So, yesterday, I was talking to my debating trainer, Praba on our way for supper, and he asked me to lookout for Bertrand Russell's decalogue. Here it is, I thought I might as well share it with the rest of you:

A Liberal Decalogue by Bertrand Arthur William Russell.

1. Do not feel absolutely certain of anything.

2. Do not think it worth while to proceed by concealing evidence, for the evidence is sure to come to light.

3. Never try to discourage thinking for you are sure to succeed.

4. When you meet with opposition, even if it should be from your husband or your children, endeavor to overcome it by argument and not by authority, for a victory dependent upon authority is unreal and illusory.

5. Have no respect for the authority of others, for there are always contrary authorities to be found.

6. Do not use power to suppress opinions you think pernicious, for if you do the opinions will suppress you.

7. Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.

8. Find more pleasure in intelligent dissent that in passive agreement, for, if you value intelligence as you should, the former implies a deeper agreement than the latter.

9. Be scrupulously truthful, even if the truth is inconvenient, for it is more inconvenient when you try to conceal it.

10. Do not feel envious of the happiness of those who live in a fool's paradise, for only a fool will think that it is happiness.

I am so sick and frustrated with the Uni's connection these days... and unlike Leng who has the privilege to go home right after Thursday's tutorial session, I have to be here for about another 24-7 hours here with this sucky connection. Damn! I think that this has to be one of the Uni's grand conspiracies to make us all give up on using the Net after some time to concentrate on our studies... ;-) And Leng, when I said that you have something important (as well as interesting) to say, I think pretty much you know what I meant by that! (And not about your current MP3 playlist!!!) :-)

Deb, I desperately need you to sit next to me like in highschool and smack me whenever I feel lazy or want to procrastinate. I have been lagging in so many things and still have the nerve keep things to the last minute! Arghh... I want to change.. I will change.. I will change... I will change!!! (Part of my daily mantra regime to convey the message to my subconcious).

Lastly, let's just speak about college for a while.. Guess what we are learning this trimester? Colours!! I am excited actually, but as usual, trying to be like the rest of the Malaysian students, act bored, act lazy, act I-don't-give-a-rat's-ass-on-whatever-crappo-that-happens... Sometimes I wonder why there isn't even a slight tinge of zest or gusto in doing the things that we do in our daily lives... yours truly included.

*looks at Sze's reference to her on her previous post and hides*

Well, hello. I am back at home now for the weekends. Time sure flies by quickly these days.

Don't think I have much to say for the time being.. but have been downloading a lot of music files this week. I guess I shall post a few of my current favourites here, which is defined by how frequent they are played on my computer. They are, in no particular order:

Bad Day - Fuel
Side - Travis
Sick Cycle Carousel - Lifehouse
Schism - Tool
All The Way to Reno (You Gotta Be A Star) - R.E.M.

Deb, a few notes:

1) If ARPAnet is the ARPA you are looking for, it stands for Advance Research Project Agency network ....

Basically, it's the predecessor of the Internet that we have come to know...you better read more to understand those stuffs, there is also something called the NSFNET.. we learnt that in CG. Btw.. about your assignment, not to worry, we will discuss this via e-mail.

Anyway, I actually wanted to write something here yesterday night but the network here in the Uni was sooo slooooooooowwwww that I couldn't even do anything. Thank goodness things seems to be better today. What a hectic day to start a semester! I have just came back from two meetings - Publication Board and VOICEs (debating society) and boy, my whole evening gone without any good rest! :-( Arghhh....

I think Leng has done something and she would like to share it with us here... don't you think so, Leng? ;-)

One page to read. Three post-high-school girls. Unlimited topics to talk about. This is what brings the girls together, no matter the distance. They speak their mind and occasionally rant and share about life, music, college, technological jargons, socials, bad spelling and recipes.

Deb Lim
http://thirdtimearound.blogspot.com Currently residing in Grand Rapids, MI and studying some complex sounding course in Calvin College, USA. English Guru, but alas, her spelling often contradicts this fact. Nutty ever since her brain was messed up by Sze. Reads literature. Inspiring person to be with. Often incoherent yet thinks that this is a way of being creative. Perhaps she's right. You tell her.

Leng aka Jedariel

Quiet and introvert may be how she appears to most, but this is the ultimate trivia queen who rants relentlessly on well... trivial info. Rock music lover. Matrix-o-holic. Reads fantasy. Prim and proper. She thinks she is evil, but let's not believe her. Ask her just about anything in this world, and she still has an answer for you. Currently pursuing her digital design dreams in MMU.

Sze Ying
http://szync.port5.com
Non-conformist - or so she thinks. Designer wannabe and pseudo geek. Gung-ho but world class procrastinator and lazy bum. Jazz lover. Talks endlessly. Often corrects Deb's spelling on purpose to irk her. Used to sit next to Deb and messed up her brain. Needs moolah desperately. Be kind to her and hire her for any graphics job. Currently studying to be an animator.
